Garde - Soleils (Sun Bonnet) Blue Flowers
The Garde - Soleil (sun bonnet) was popular through many parts of Europe as well as the Acadians who settled South Louisiana. The bonnets were used by ladies and children of all ages. Working in the field or outdoors, the bonnets kept the sun from their face and neck. Raw starch was used to keep the brim stiff. They look great worn or just hanging on the wall. These bonnets are all adjustable. All cotton and washable. Handmade from La Boutique de la Reine (the boutique of the queen, Madam Tulee.) One-of-a-kind and subject to prior sale. $45.00 each. |
